James Comer Calls Bill Clinton “Prime Suspect” in Epstein Investigation — Says America Deserves to Know Truth About His Reported Trips to Epstein Island

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) dropped a political nuclear bomb on Monday, describing former President Bill Clinton as “a prime suspect” in the ongoing Jeffrey Epstein investigation and vowing to get answers about Clinton’s frequent visits to Epstein Island.

It can be recalled that last week, James Comer announced that the Committee has issued subpoenas to a who’s who of political elites and deep state operatives.

Comer made the announcement via X, writing:

The House Oversight Committee is compelling the following individuals to appear for depositions through issued subpoenas:

  • Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton: October 9
  • Former President Bill Clinton: October 14
  • Former U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland: October 2
  • Former FBI Director James Comey: October 7
  • Former U.S. Attorney General William Barr: August 18
  • Former U.S. Attorney General Alberto Gonzales: August 26
  • Former U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions: August 28
  • Former FBI Director Robert Mueller: September 2
  • Former U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch: September 9
  • Former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder: September 30

According to the press release:

On July 23, 2025, Republicans and Democrats on the Federal Law Enforcement Subcommittee approved by voice vote a motion offered by Rep. Scott Perry (R-Pa.) to direct the Chairman to subpoena Bill and Hillary Clinton, James Comey, Loretta Lynch, Eric Holder, Merrick Garland, Robert Mueller, William Barr, Jeff Sessions, and Alberto Gonzales.

The Subcommittee also approved an amended motion offered by Rep. Summer Lee (D-Pa.) by a vote of 8-2 to direct the Chairman to subpoena the Department of Justice to release records related to the Epstein case. Rep. Andy Biggs’ (R-Ariz.) amendment to include the release of all communications between President Biden and/or Biden Administration officials and the Department of Justice related to Jeffrey Epstein was adopted by voice vote. Rep. Nancy Mace’s (R-S.C.) amendment to include redacting the names of victims and any personally identifiable information of victims, and any possible Child Sexual Abuse Material was adopted by voice vote.

Speaking to Newsmax host Rob Finnerty, Comer made it crystal clear that this is not just another political stunt. The American people, he says, deserve to know what happened behind the closed gates of Epstein’s private island.

Rob Finnerty:
I just want to ask you one question, Mr. Chairman. The American people want to know what happened on Epstein Island. I’m not going to drop this topic. You’ve subpoenaed Bill Clinton. He’s going to fight you tooth and nail with the best lawyers in the country, in some cases. Do you think Bill Clinton ever actually testifies? I think his date is—what—October 12th?

James Comer:
Yes. I think we have a very good chance at this. I’ve never lost a subpoena battle. I’ve been chairman of that committee for a year and a half. This is the most challenging subpoena I’ve ever issued.

But what makes this subpoena different is that the Democrats voted with Republicans. This is a bipartisan, congressionally approved subpoena, and I think that will hold a lot of weight in court.

You’re absolutely right—he’s going to have the best lawyers in America fighting us tooth and toenail on this. But the fact that this was voted on by Republicans and Democrats—because we’re hearing from our constituents—means everybody in America wants to know what went on at Epstein Island.

We’ve all heard reports that Bill Clinton was a frequent visitor there. He’s a prime suspect to be deposed by the House Oversight. Hopefully, we’ll win that court battle with that subpoena and see President Clinton in October.
