Michelle Obama made a bizarre comment during a recent interview that raised even more speculation about the state of her marriage with her husband.
Appearing on NPR’s “Wild Card” podcast with host Rachel Martin this week, Michelle attempted to address why she and Barack are rarely seen out in public.
“The fact that people don’t see me going out on a date with my husband sparks rumors of the end of our marriage,” Michelle told Martin earlier this week.
“It’s the apocalypse!” Martin mockingly exclaimed.
“It’s like, ‘OK, so we don’t Instagram every minute of our lives. We are 60,” she added. “You are just not going to know what we’re doing every minute of the day.”
“We don’t take selfies.”

This comment from Michelle immediately sparked confusion across social media and did nothing to shut down the months-long divorce rumors.
After all, most healthy couples have no issue hanging out together in public, regardless of age.
