Democrat Congresswoman Jasmine Crockett (TX) said she hopes to lead the House Oversight Committee if the Democrats take back the House in next year’s midterms.
Crockett appeared on MSNBC on Sunday to discuss Trump’s agenda, his tariff wars, and historical Middle East deals.
Far-left MSNBC teed up Crockett and asked her if the Democrats will investigate Trump if they take back the House and or the Senate in 2026.
Crockett revealed that she will be hoping to take over as Chairwoman of the House Oversight Committee if the Dems take back the House after ranking member Gerry Connolly passed away last week.
“Well, Alex, I’m glad you asked! Listen, so long as we end up taking the House, which I fully anticipate that we will do and we are going to work hard to help our Senate colleagues as well, then as someone who serves on the Oversight Committee and hopes to lead the Oversight Committee, I will guarantee you that we will do what we are supposed to do as Constitutionally sworn members of the House which means we will conduct oversight,” Crockett said.
She continued, “We will look at whether or not this president himself has violated the Emoluments Clause as it relates to… the $400 million plane from the Qataris… and business deals.”
To be clear, Qatar gifted the Defense Department the $400 million plane.
“There is no shortage of things for us to dig into to determine whether or not there have been violations of the law but definitely violations of our Constitution as a whole,” she said.
