White House Faith Director Jennifer Korn discussed the White House’s actions to protect religious liberties in an interview with The Gateway Pundit last week, following a National Day of Prayer event at the White House on Thursday.
President Trump delivered remarks for nearly an hour in the Rose Garden last Thursday to commemorate National Day of Prayer.

After the event, the President signed a ‘Establishment of the Religious Liberty Commission’ executive order to “enforce the historic and robust protections for religious liberty enshrined in Federal law.”
This order creates a 14-member commission to “advise the White House Faith Office and the Domestic Policy Council on religious liberty policies of the United States.” Jennifer Korn noted that this order, in combination with previous orders establishing a White House Faith Office and task forces to combat religious biases, will ensure that “we never have the government infringing upon our rights.”
In contrast, it can be recalled that Joe Biden previously declared that white Christians were a national security threat, and his DOJ weaponized justice against pro-lifers for praying outside abortion clinics. The Christian-hating former president also issued an official proclamation last year, declaring the country would celebrate Transgender Day of Visibility on Easter Sunday.
Korn slammed Biden for offending “every Christian, not only in America, but around the world” and highlighted President Trump’s huge celebration of Holy Week, including a message on Palm Sunday where the President vowed to “defend the Christian faith in our schools, military, workplaces, hospitals, and halls of government.”
As President Trump declared at the Easter Egg Roll event on April 21, “we’re bringing religion back in America.”

Conradson: Tell us about this event that President Trump just held, the remarks he delivered. How important is that to have a president that stands up for faith?
Korn: National Day of Prayer is so important, and we’re so grateful that President Trump would invite hundreds of people from all different faiths to join in the Rose Garden, to pray, to worship, and also to give remarks about his faith, about how we need to all come together. And truly, if people and leaders can come and pray together, then we can do everything else together. And that means faith diplomacy is so important. And so, it was just an honor to have the president. He was just supposed to give some remarks, and then we were gonna have two songs and what have you. But he went really long because he talked about faith from his heart. And he also stood up there and invited faith leaders. He’s like “all the faith leaders who have been with me“ he goes, “come on stage.” So he must have had 50 people on stage with him to pray one after another, and the President stood there with us. And it was just, it was just a powerful moment.
Conradson: That’s really incredible, especially after the last administration who targeted innocent Christians and Catholics, pro-lifers, who also, you know, on Good Friday, he declared that Easter Sunday would be transgender day of visibility, and that America would recognize that holiday while we recognize Easter Sunday.
Korn: There’s a huge— there’s a stark difference between the Biden administration and the Trump administration, as you said. On Easter Sunday, he declared a trans visibility Day, which we know the President has a prerogative to release proclamations earlier or later. He didn’t have to do it on Easter Sunday and basically offend every Christian, not only in America, but around the world. And so what we did is the President released a proclamation on Palm Sunday to announce all of Holy Week. He did a presidential video. We did an Easter dinner on that Wednesday where we had faith leaders in the White House, but what we did is have a live stream. We prayed, and we worshiped, and we invited America to pray and worship with the President. So, we were able to bring in people to the White House, and then we had a White House worship service for all of the staff with Reverend Franklin Graham, Pastor Greg Laurie, Pastor Jensen Franklin, of course, our Senior Advisor, Pastor Paula White. And I have to tell you, on that event, we weren’t sure how many people were going to show up, but it was standing room only, and staff was out either side of the doors, and it was just a magical moment. So, you know, there is a welcome mat for people of faith here at the White House, and when I say that, I mean all faiths, and we’re here to give a voice to those in faith in their own government, because people of faith are citizens, are American citizens, just like everybody else, and they should have a voice too.
Conradson: It’s really a stark contrast between this administration and the last administration. Tell us a little bit more about the executive order that was signed today establishing a religious liberty commission, and why that’s so important at this time.
Korn: So, the first thing the President did was he, through executive order, created a historic White House Faith Office that’s in the west wing, has direct access to the president, works directly with domestic policy council to make sure that the policy is written and reflects people of faith. But part of that, we also created the different task forces to combat anti semitism, to eradicate anti Christian bias and all other religious biases that are in the government. And then today, sort of cherry on top, we created a commission; the president created a commission on religious liberty, and that means that they’re going to define what religion is, define what freedom is, and make sure that in this country, we never have the government infringing upon our rights.
