President Trump has told the country how he hopes to be remembered in the history books when his time in the Oval Office is over.
The president sat down with his daughter-in-law, Lara Trump, in an exclusive Fox News interview taped for Sunday, July 13. The two discussed the 47th president’s first six months in office, the failures of the Biden regime, and the Texas floods.
Lara asked her father-in-law what he wanted his legacy to be when his presidency is over and his political career concludes. The president’s reply was quite poignant.

LARA TRUMP: When history looks back on this time in our country, when history looks back on you, how would you like to be remembered?
PRESIDENT TRUMP: A good person, but a person who saved our country. I really believed our country was going down for the fall.
I don’t know if it ever could’ve come back. It was very close to the edge. And I really would like to be known as the man that saved our country.
One could say that God also had a hand in saving America. What we witnessed one year ago today was nothing short of a miracle.
As we all know, Trump came within a centimeter of being assassinated in Butler, Pennsylvania, by a Democrat donor named Thomas Crooks exactly one year ago today, who America still does not know much about.
The President also reflected on his brush with death and how the incident was handled.
“Well, it was unforgettable,” he said. “I didn’t know exactly what was going on. I got whacked. There’s no question about that. And fortunately, I got down quickly. People were screaming, and I got down quickly, fortunately, because I think they shot eight bullets.”
“They should have had somebody in the building, that was a mistake,” Trump continued. “They should have had communications with the local police, they weren’t tied in, and they should have been tied in. So there were mistakes made, and that shouldn’t have happened.”
“But I was satisfied in terms of the bigger plot, the larger plot. And I have great confidence in these people. I know the people. And they’re very talented, very capable. But they had a bad day. And I think they’ll admit that. They had a rough day.”
