At this point in time, most of us have seen the footage from the CCTV in the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles: a drugged-up Cassie Ventura tries to flee a ‘freakout’ sex marathon, only to be chased and brutally beat up by a disgraced rapper Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs holding a towel around his waist.
But yesterday (3), on Diddy’s trial, security guard Eddy Garcia, who worked at the ritzy hotel, dropped a bomb in court Tuesday, revealing how the disgraced rapper ‘paid him a $100,000 bribe to make the footage disappear’.
Garcia testified with immunity, so he can’t be prosecuted for taking the bribe or anything else related to his testimony.
He told jurors that Diddy promised to ‘take care of him’ if the guard helped him get the surveillance video of the beating.

Garcia told the jury that after Combs beat Ventura, he and his chief of staff Kristina Khorram kept trying to enlist him to help them make the video go away.
New York Post reported:
“During one call with Combs, he ‘sounded very nervous. He was talking fast. He said he had a little too much to drink, said one thing led to another’.
On another call, Combs told Garcia, ‘I sounded like a good guy. That I wanted to help … he said something like this could ruin him. He was concerned that this video could get out and that it could ruin his career’.”

“Eddy Garcia said he and his boss, Bill Medrano, agreed to take payoffs to get the Bad Boy Records founder the only known copy of the surveillance video from the InterContinental Hotel in Los Angeles that captured the March 5, 2016, beatdown.”
When Garcia agreed to take the bribe, the rapper was excited, he testified.
“Medrano put a copy of the footage on a USB stick for Garcia and sent the employee to an address for the Combs meeting, assuring him he would cover for the security guard at work.”

Diddy warmly greeted the guard, calling him ‘Eddy, my angel’, and asked if the video on the USB stick was the only copy.
The mogul called Ventura on FaceTime, saying that ‘she wanted it to go away too’.
Then Diddy took out a brown paper bag with $100,000 in stacks of $10,000. Garcia’s boss Medrano took $50,000.
The mogul told him ‘not to make any big purchases’ with the money.

Later, Diddy called Garcia on Easter.
“He said, ‘Happy Easter. You are my angel. God is good. God put you in my life for a reason’. And he asked if anyone had inquired about the video,” Garcia told jurors. Garcia informed the Bad Boy Records founder that he hadn’t received any questions.”
When federal investigators finally came calling about his involvement in getting the video of him beating his girlfriend Cassie Ventura, he lied to them before lawyering up for his next meeting and admitting to taking the bribe.
