Border Czar Tom Homan issued a warning shot to Nashville Mayor Freddie O’Connell on Tuesday, signaling that he may already be under federal investigation by Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
“I cannot confirm nor deny if ICE is investigating him, but we’ll see what plays out,” Homan told Fox host Laura Ingraham. “We’re going to hit every sanctuary city.”
This comes as O’Connell is already the subject of investigation in the House Homeland Security and Judiciary committees. As The Gateway Pundit reported, GOP Congressman Andy Ogles (TN) confirmed the investigation on Monday and said he will be formally requesting all documents from the mayor’s office.
The investigation stems from “an outrageous directive requiring Nashville employees and first responders to report all communication with federal immigration authorities directly to the Mayor,” says Ogles.
Homan has put leftist sanctuary state and city officials on notice several times, telling The Gateway Pundit, “If you cross that line of impidement or knowingly harboring and concealing illegal aliens, that is a felony, and we will treat it as such.”
So far, a former New Mexico judge and a Milwaukee County judge have been arrested for harboring and concealing illegal aliens in an apparent warning shot to sanctuary officials whose policies and noncompliance with ICE are obstructing justice.
Responding to Mayor O’Connell’s attempts to impede ICE and protect public safety threats, including sex offenders, violent criminals, gang members, and repeat border-crossers, Homan said ICE is “pay[ing] a lot of attention.”
Homan: I cannot confirm nor deny if ICE is investigating him, but we’ll see what plays out. And it isn’t just what he says; it’s what he does. So, I plan on going to Nashville in the near future, and I said that from day one that we’re going to hit every sanctuary city. Everybody who wants to push back against ICE, we’re going to pay a lot of attention to them.
That’s not a threat, but if you’re going to support criminal aliens walking the street, then we know there’s a problem there. We don’t have that problem like Florida; we’ve got Governor DeSantis 287(g) across the state. We get to spend less resources in Florida, knowing we have a system to get criminal aliens in every jail in that state. But when we’ve got places like Nashville, who’s pushing against us getting the bad guy, that’s where we’ve got to concentrate our resources to make those streets safer.
He ought to be thanking us for arresting the criminal aliens they arrested. They arrested, as you said earlier, a sex offender, several people that are convicted of violent crimes, gang members, and illegal aliens that were deported many times before, which means now they’re a felon. We made his streets safer. I’d think he would be nice, not attacking the men and women of ICE.
