A CNN reporter’s attempt to get a gangster from arguably the world’s most violent cartel to bash President Trump backfired when he stunned her with a surprising take on the president.
Earlier this week, CNN’s Isobel Yeung visited the state of Sinaloa in Mexico, which is home to the Sinaloa Cartel, one of the most powerful and violent drug trafficking organizations in the world. The Sinaloa Cartel has become Mexico’s most feared cartel and regularly carries out brutal assassinations of anyone who dares get in their way.
Understanding the threat the Mexican drug cartels pose, especially Sinaloa, Trump rightfully signed an executive order designating them as Foreign Terrorist Organizations (FTOs) and Specially Designated Global Terrorists (SDGTs). By designating these entities as FTOs and SDGTs, Trump’s administration is determined to mobilize every available resource—ranging from intensified law enforcement crackdowns to strategic military operations—aimed at dismantling cartel leadership, infrastructure, and operations.
Trump has also opened the door to deploying the military into Mexico to strike the cartels.
Yeung sat down with a member of the Sinaloa Cartel as part of her ‘investigation’ into the impact it’s having on civilians and Mexican security. Of course, she brought up Trump’s designation of him as a terrorist in an effort to get a headline-grabbing response.
“According to the Trump Administration, you are a terrorist…You are a member of a terrorist organization. What do you make of that?” Yeung asked.
He casually told her the situation “was ugly,” but they (the terrorists) have to eat. Then, Yeung tried again to get the cartel member to bash Trump.
“What is your message to Donald Trump if he’s watching this?” she asked, expecting a vicious response.
Instead, the Sinaloa Cartel member stunned her again with a shocking response.
“My respect,” he said. “According to him, he’s looking out for his people.”

This shows how incredibly successful President Trump has been since taking office, particularly in terms of order and national security matters. The world’s worst figures may not like Trump, but they d*mn sure do respect him.
This is exactly what Trump promised when he got elected. What a welcome change from the last four years.
