A California Democrat Congressman, seemingly jealous of all the attention far-left Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-TX) has been getting, tried to smear Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth during a House hearing today and got blown up in response by CIA Director John Ratcliffe.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Jeffrey Goldberg, the leftist anti-Trump editor-in-chief of The Atlantic, claimed without evidence that he was “accidentally” added to a secure Signal group chat by National Security Adviser Mike Waltz where top Trump administration officials discussed sensitive military operations against Iran-backed Houthi terrorists in Yemen and called them “war plans.”
Goldberg said that Waltz, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Secretary of State Marco Rubio, and Vice President JD Vance were among the heavy hitters in the so-called “Houthi PC small group,” discussing plans to deliver a long-overdue smackdown to the Iran-backed Houthi rebels in Yemen.
But instead of simply excusing himself from the conversation, Goldberg did what deep-state, Trump-hating reporters do best: he took screenshots of the conversation and ran to his keyboard to try to leak the military operation.
Team Trump angrily fired back and called Goldberg a liar, saying no war plans were discussed. Then, Goldberg and his co-worker Shane Harris have published details of the military plans against the Houthis to call Team Trump’s bluff and humiliate Trump.
But their efforts backfired by inadvertently making a damning admission proving Team Trump right. Goldberg previously called these leaks “war plans” to ensure maximum media coverage before now calling them “attack plans.”
During a House hearing on Wednesday with intelligence leaders, Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) decided to ignore these facts and slander Hegseth as a drunkard who leaked “classified information.” He first asked Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard if she thought Hegseth had been drinking during Signal chat.
“To your knowledge, do you know if Pete Hegseth had been drinking before leaking classified information?” Gomez asked Gabbard.
After Gabbard responded that she did not know, Gomez asked Ratcliffe the same question. His response was far spicier.
“I think that’s an offensive line of questioning. The answer is no,” Ratcliffe retorted. “I find it interesting that you…”
“I yield back, you’re wasting my time!” a triggered Gomez whined.
“You don’t want to answer. You don’t want to focus on the good work that the CIA is doing!” Ratcliffe fired back.

“Director, I reclaim my time!” Gomez protested. “I have huge respect for the CIA and our men and women in uniform. But this is at the top of the minds of every American!”
“He (Hegseth) stood in front of a podium in Europe holding a drink,” he continued. “We want to know if his performance was compromised.”
But Ratcliffe finished demolishing Gomez with one astute observation: Any supposed issues Hegseth supposedly has with alcohol had no impact on the mission, which was successful.
“Was his performance compromised because of a successful strike?” Ratcliffe asked. “You want to talk about accepting responsibility for a successful strike making Americans safer?”
A panicked Gomez had no answer and could only say, “I reclaim my time,” like a robot.
